Spray painting

A few weeks ago we started doing spray painting. We had got our ideas when we did our spray painting thing in the city. We did it by using masking tape to show our design. Then we spray painted it and that's how we got our piece. I hope you like it:)

Maths

This week for Home Learning in Room 18 we had to do a maths blog post. We had to show two strategies for the question. The strategies I used are Rounding and Compensating and Place Value. These are the 2 questions that we could pick 28x6 or 36x18. I picked 28x6 because it was a good one to do.

Here is how I worked it out.

Place Value
28x6=?
28x5=140(20x5=100 + 8x5=40)
28x1=28
140+28=168

Rounding and Compensating
28x6=168
+(2x6=12)
30x6=180-12(2x6)=168

So that's how I got my answer 168.

Multiplication strategy

Today Miss Scott did some maths testing with me. She did it to see how much I had learnt. She did stuff like multiplication, division and fractions.

Here is the question I had to solve.
"At a car factor they had 72 wheels and each car needs 4 wheels. How many cars can they make?"

Here is my strategy:

72 / 4 =?
4 x ___ = 72

4x8= 32
4x10=40
40+32=72
8+10=18

That's how I got my answer.
